Here are the prerequisites needed before you begin your training.
- Have logged at least 250 hours total time
- Hold a Commercial Pilot Certificate with Instrument Rating.
- Hold a valid FAA 3rd Class Medical Certificate (or higher).
Course Hours
By the time you have gotten to this point you have learned to fly at the commercial level. This training consist of learning how to fly from the right seat and finding out what it takes to become a CFI. We will give you the guidance of building lesson plans, and how to teach students.

Check Ride
Aeronautical knowledge and FAA knowledge test
To Become a CFI two FAA knowledge test are required.
- (FOI) Fundamentals of Instruction, the FOI consists of 50 Questions.
You are allotted 1.5 Hours to complete. - FAA Flight Instructor knowledge test, this test consist of 100 Questions.
You are allotted 2.5 Hours to complete.
Check Ride
The Check Ride consists of two parts.
- The oral portion of the Check Ride is the first.
The oral is a face to face discussion of your knowledge of how to properly instruct students with an FAA examiner. - The second part of the Check Ride is getting in the plane and proving that you are capable to simulate instructing a student on how to fly the aircraft safety and to FAA standards
